Stars become SENS
The Napanee Stars Atom BB became OTTAWA SENATORS yesterday
at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ontario.
The Future Sens experience provides teams of all ages the opportunity to play an exhibition game on Canadian Tire Centre ice prior to a Senators home game. The Napanee Stars played the Loyalist Jets on the same ice as Bobby Ryan, Kyle Turris and Erik Karlsson before watching the hometown Sens beat John Tavares and the visiting New York Islanders 3-2 in an exciting overtime thriller.
Before the exhibition game, the players were escorted through the hallways and rooms deep within the Canadian Tire Centre where all the NHL player interviews and game preparation occurs.
The exhibition game with the Jets included the same game production as the NHL's Senators featuring:
Sens theme music as the players took to the ice
Individual player introductions
National anthem
Music between stoppages in play and the Sens Goal horn
The entire day was a remarkable experience for the kids and their families. One they will never forget.
