Strong Third Powers Stars
The Peewee AE Stars battled the Tweed Hawks on Saturday afternoon in the first game of a home & home. The Stars had not played a game since being eliminated from the playoffs and started slowly in their return to game action.

The first period showed some expected rust, as the team had only practice in the two weeks since being eliminated. Tweed took advantaged of loose defensive play by the Stars and scored two goals in the final two minutes of the period.

The second period saw the Stars start to gain their legs and structure to their game but despite chances neither team was able to find the back of the net.

The third period saw the biggest goal output, in a period, by the Stars all year as they scored six unanswered goals. The line of Johnny Hearns, Conner Wiltshire and Oronanthye Green lead the way as the line had nine points. Hearns and Green each had one goal and two assists while Wiltshire had two goals and one assist. Also scoring for the Stars was Wil Peterson and Braden Bannon. Jake Reid assisted on the Peterson goal and Austin Catena drew the lone assist on the Bannon goal.

Jacob East and Nate Cinnamon split the duties in goal, with both goalies making some key stops in the first and second periods while their teammates where revving up the goal scoring engine.

Next at up is the return match with Tweed on Saturday March 12, then the team is off to Aylmer Ontario for Flames AE March Break Classic.
