Peewee AE's Represent Napanee Proudly in International Silverstick Finals
The Napanee Peewee AE squad returned to Napanee Sunday with their heads held high as they represented Napanee with true heart.

The Peewee AE Stars travelled to Pelham Ontario this past weekend for an experience that to some comes only once in a life time. They were elated to be representing Napanee in the 2016-17 International Silver Stick Tournament Finals after having won the regional qualifying tournament in St Clements in December. The boys had an amazing time meeting new competitors from as far away as Albuquerque New Mexico and Colorado in the traditional league "pin trading" event held thursday night at the Scotia Bank Centre in Niagara Falls, Ontario prior to the opening ceremonies.  With over 80 visiting teams from across the US and Ontario, and 16 teams in their division alone, the Peewee AE's represented Napanee proudly winning two of their 3 preliminary games: (6:3 against New Mexico and 3:1 against Penatang) and tying for 1st in their division with 4 points landing themselves in the Tier 1 divisional quarterfinals. Friday afternoon the boys played the very strong, major Peewee London Bandits in the quarter finals who to this point had earned 30 points for and 0 against in their 3 preliminary games. The Stars definitely had their hands full with the large bench of 17 major Bandits but played with enthusiasm, heart and determination. The boys kept the score at 0 for the first period and 1:0 till the 11 minute mark of the 3rd. In a penalty riddled game, the Stars had difficulty generating any offence against the Bandits and in the end ran out of steam trying to keep pace with the larger squad and lost 5:0. London would continue on to win the tournament. Congratulations go out to the entire team and coaching staff for a job well done as they now gear up for playoffs.
