Peewee AE's Sweep the PEC Milk tournament
The Napanee Peewee AE Stars swept through all 3 preliminary games of the annual PEC Milk tournament this past weekend and moved to the A Final to win their division's Championship in an exciting match-up against Muskoka Rock.
The boys took game 1 against Muskoka with a final score of 5:2. The Stars opened up the goal scoring less than 12 seconds into the first period with a beautiful pass across the net from Aiden Haller-Brady to Austin Catena who pocketed the puck with determination. Luc Amat scored the next 4 goals with assists from Jake Wood, Bailey Cook-Martin, Austin Catena and Branson Leveque Price (MVP). Nathaniel Cinnamon stood tall as the lone net-minder. Game 2 had the Stars facing the Quinte West Hawks. Napanee won with a score of 5:3. Scoring for the Stars were Jake Wood (2), Aiden (2) and Luc Amat. Assists went to Aiden (MVP), William Peterson, Ben Huyck, and Luc. Holden Breault made timely saves to help his team earn 2 more points. Game 3 was against the Stars' regular league opponents, the PEC Kings. Again Napanee came out on top with a score of 8:4. Holden played well keeping the puck out of the net, giving his team the opportunity to clinch their spot in the A final on Sunday. Scoring for Napanee were Luc Amat (3)(MVP), Aiden, Austin (2), Jake Wood and Caleb Justason. Game 4 was the A final fight for the Championship. It was an exciting game of end to end play. The crowd on both sides were rowdy and thrilled to be cheering their boys on. The Stars came out to win and fought hard with determination and excellent teamwork to win the Championship 4:1. Nathaniel Cinnamon (MVP) was the lone net-minder for the game and frustrated the Rock by denying any pucks from entering his net. Scoring for the Stars was Jake Wood, Scott Collard, Luc, and Bailey Cook-Martin. Assists went to William (2), Luc, and Aiden. Congratulations to all the boys on a fantastic tournament weekend.
