Peewee AE's Break the Tweed Hawk's streak
On thursday November 3, the Napanee Peewee AE's welcomed the Tweed Hawks back to the SPC for their second match-up of the season. The Stars earned the win with a score of 4:3 over the Hawks knocking their winning streak down to 0. It was a great team effort With all 4 goals occurring in the first period. Aiden Haller-Brady assisted by captain Ben Huyck was the first to find the back of the Hawk net in the early first 2 minutes of the game. To follow were goals by Austin Catena, Aiden and Jake Wood. Assists went to Elijah Chadwick, Huyck and Bailey Cook-Martin.
The Hawks answered back late in the first with 2 quick goals followed by a 3rd goal in the early minutes of the 2nd. The remainder of the game was exciting end to end play with both teams tightening up their defence to keep the pucks out. In the end the Stars prevailed. Nathaniel Cinnamon made timely saves to contribute to the win.
Saturday, November 5 the Stars welcomed the Durham Crusaders. The Stars earned the win with a final score of 4:2. Goaltender Holden Breault stood tall for the Stars between the pipes. Scoring for the Stars were Austin (2), Caleb Justason and Aiden. Assists went to Bailey Cook-Martin, Luc Amat (3), Branson Leveque-Price, and Catena.
Sunday the Stars travelled to Oshawa to face the Crusaders in a re-match, this time on Crusader's home ice. The Stars and Crusaders each shared a point with a final tied score of 1:1. Scoring for the Stars was Luc Amat, unassisted on a break-away. The goal against the Stars was one worthy of an NHL video re-view, as the crowd watched the puck slide toward the net just as the period ended and the buzzer rang. Unfortunately for the Stars the Refs voted in favour of the Crusaders and the goal was allowed.
