Peewee AE's hit the road for back to back weekend games
The Napanee Peewee AE Stars played back to back road games this past weekend facing the Tweed Hawks and the PEC Kings. Saturday, the Hawks were focused and determined to earn the win against the Stars in their first match-up in their home barn. The energy between the two teams was electric as the play continued end to end with both teams exerting pressure on the other and not letting off the gas.
It was at the 5 minute mark in the third that the Stars really vamped up the heat and were able to add to Ben Huyck's second period goal (assisted by Aiden Haller-Brady and Austin Catena), and find the back of the Hawk net bringing the score to 4:2. Scoring was Aiden assisted by Scott Collard. With the momentum back in their court the Stars (Will Peterson assisted by Luc Amat and Jake Wood) quickly pocketed a third goal at the 2 minute mark bringing the score to within 1 point. With the Hawks nervous and on high alert, and the the Stars goalie pulled, the Stars made a bold and aggressive play for a 4th goal at the 20sec mark. Unfortunately the clock ran out and the Hawks earned the win with a final score of 4:3. Cinnamon stood tall as the loan net-minder for the game.
Sunday, the Stars traveled to the Esroc Arena in Wellington to face the PEC Kings. In an unusual turn, the Stars struggled to build any momentum, and succumbed to the Kings with a final score of 2:1. Scoring for Napanee was Aiden Haller-Brady unassisted on a break-away. Holden Breault stood tall the entire game making timely and necessary saves.
