A Weekend of Ups and Downs
It was a weekend of mixed emotions for the Napanee Peewee AE Star boys. Saturday the boys showed their best effort to a hometown crowd with a triumphant 7:1 win over the Ennismore Eagles, but fell short on Sunday in Tweed 10:1 to a strong and determined flock of Hawks.

Saturday December 17th the Napanee Peewee AE Stars welcomed the Ennismore Eagles to the SPC for their 3rd match up of the regular season. Jake Wood, assisted by Ben Huyck and Luc Amat, opened up the scoring with a goal at the 8 minute mark of the first. The Eagles retaliated shortly after where by both goalies kept the score at an even 1:1 for the remainder of the period. The Stars hit hard in the second with five more goals. Scoring for Napanee were Aiden Haller-Brady(3), Branson Leveque-Price and William Peterson. Assists went to Scott Collard, Austin Catena, Jake Vanberkel, Caleb Justason, Wood and Amat. The final hit came in the third by Luc Amat assisted by Price to cinch the victory at 7:1.

Following their game the boys gathered together with family and siblings to enjoy their team Christmas party where in a surprise turn, a few of the 2015/16 OMHA Midget BB Champions paid the younger stars a personal visit to hand deliver commemorative pucks and congratulate the boys on their Regional Silverstick win. With Awe in their faces as the Midgets showed off their playoff rings, the Peewee's now find themselves tempted with the challenge of following in the Midget BB Stars steps as they near the start of the 2016/17 playoffs.

Following the Midget boys visit, the Peewees gathered along the glass along side the Goodyear rink and enjoyed the banner raising ceremony head up by coach Jim Mckinney, and accepted an invite to join the current Midget BB Stars in a mentoring practice. The Peewee's paired up with Midget players and practiced skating, passing, shooting and other key drills. Although it was hard work all participants, midgets and peewees combined had a blast. Bystanders and parents couldn't help but notice the huge smiles on everyones faces as Peewees surprised Midgets and Midgets mentored Peewees.

On Sunday the boys travelled to Tweed for an early afternoon game and their final match-up of the regular season. Both teams came out strong in the first period with the puck moving fast from end to end. The Hawks gave the Stars very little breathing room and kept pressure in the offensive end at all times. Nathaniel Cinnamon did well to keep the puck out. The tune changed in the second period however, as an unfortunate offside goal was allowed giving the Hawks a 1:0 lead. Tweed maintained their pressure and before anyone knew it skilled Hawk #17 had pocketed 4 more goals. The Hawks failed to release pressure in their offensive end and the Stars could not gain control of the puck to come back. Luc Amat, assisted by Ben Huyck did manage to break the Hawk goalie shutout with a nice strike in the third, however the end result was still a loss of 10:1 for the Stars.
