OMHA Quarter Finals
Round three of the OMHA playdowns had the Peewee AE Stars playing the Huntsville Otters. The extreme weather that impacted the Rink of Dreams game the night before the series opener in Huntsville seemed to foreshadow the Stars fortune. Unfortunately the Stars were swept by the Otters.
Game 1, 4-0 Loss
In the series opener the Stars, after a long travel day to Huntsville, came out flat in a lacklustre game.
Game 2, 2-1 OT Loss
The Stars had a better effort, but their early season goal scoring drought, that was apparent in game One continued. The boys could not capitalize on the or offensive zone time.
Game 3, 9-1 Loss
In game that seemed to be over just as soon as OT started the boys season came to an abrupt end. The Stars had little push back and after an early Otters goal in the first, it appeared the wind had come out of their sails.
Despite the loss, the coaching staff, parents and extended team family are very proud of the turn around the team made this year.
Next up for the Stars is a season ending tournament in Aylmer Ontario over the March break, but preceding that is a pair of exhibition games with Tweed on the 5th and 12th of March.
