Tweed Hawks Tournament - C Champs
On December 28 the Peewee AE Stars played in the Tweed Hawks tournament finishing with a 2-1 record.
Game 1 versus PEC Kings, 2-1 Loss
After a scoreless first period the Kings scored both of their goals in the second period. The Stars finally responded at the midpoint of the third period when Johnny Hearns scored assigned by Scott Collard and Austin Catena. The boys pushed hard but could not capitalize on their offensive zone time. Jacob East went the distance in goal.
Game 2 versus Belleville Bulls, 3-2 Victory
Oronathye Green opened the scoring for the Stars one minute into the game. Early in the second the Stars doubled their lead after Braden Bannon scored with assists going to Green and Wil Peterson. The Bulls scored cutting into the lead but Jake Reid responded less than one minute later with the game winner. The Bulls would score late in the third to make the final 3-2. Nate Cinnamon was solid in goal.
Game 3 versus Stirling Blues, 3-0 Victory
In the C Championship game the boys played a solid two way game and dominated Stirling from the opening face-off. The Stars opened the scoring in the last minute of the period when Johnny Hearns scored, which was the eventual game winner. The teams played a scoreless second period and the Stars would add two goals in third period. Scoring was Hearns with his second of the game and Dawson Wales. Braden Bannon assisted on the Wales goal. Jacob East recorded the shutout.
